I'm not Analytical!

I was sitting in my Trig class staring at the board trying to make sense of the jumble of numbers when my teacher says "Evan, do some work!!!"
"I don't know how to do this!" I reply.

He doesn't seem able to understand that I just can't wrap my brain around these pointless equations.
"I'm no analytical." I thought, then it hit me. I'm artistic, if he could just show me these equations through images I would understand.

Unfortunately, just like I don't understand numbers, he doesn't understand my viewpoint.

So, I guess neither of us are getting anywhere.

The moral of this story is don't ask me a math question.

I finally figured out how to do this, Mobile Blogging! I'm really excited and I hope you are to!

I plan to write anything I see, which is basically what I've been doing. Hmm.......Only now it's from my phone, so I can blog from anywhere at anytime! Fun, isn't it? I'll try to keep you informed of all my opinion updates.

NO! Not just a simple story!

So, my Spanish teacher assigns us a project due at the end of the week. I have to write a story, any story. It can be Fiction, nonfiction, science fiction, or just what ever you want. That wouldn't be to hard, but the kicker is that we have to translate it into Spanish.

My immediate reaction was to freak out and think I can't do this. Just about every body's was.

Just a few minuets ago I laughed at myself when I realized, I blog like crazy. I type pages a week, what's the problem (other than translating it into Spanish).

I think if I just didn't rush into everything, life would be easier. I'm bad about this--especially with my words.

At my Church there is a special time for the Children, rightfully dubbed Children's Time. The lesson this week was on dealing with Toothpaste. Toothpaste. Can you get the toothpaste back in once you have squeezed it all out? Our words are the same way. Sometimes when we say things regrettable, we often can't get them back.

I think that we as Christians should be like this. We should be Toothpaste Christians, slow to anger and quick to think.

But what are your thoughts, leave comments

Cute Monkey?

Have you all heard about this monkey attack?
It's insane and disgusting, and that's probably why the news won't stop reporting on it.

Can we really blame a 250 lb (atleast) wild animal? Or should we blame the idiot who kept him as a pet? It attacked the owner's neighbor and mauled her face and ripped her hands off. WTF!!! That's how they are in the wild, because they are WILD ANIMALS. This lady definitaly should be on trial.

Apparently the idiot owner gave him ice tea laced with some type drug that relaxes people. Apparently it has completely opposite affects on Chimpanzees because she gave him this 5 minutes before the attack.

People that have exotic pets and don't know how to manage them really tick me off. They shouldn't be allowed to keep these animals such as: tigers, large snakes, and Chimps.

I don't remember the actual number, but I think Chimps have the strength of 4 men, at least. (if you ever see a mentally retarded Chimp.......RUN!!!)

Is this an important issue, probably not. But it annoys me that idiots like this are allowed to keep dangerous animals like this. It would be like giving her a RPG. I think she sould be put on trial, but what do you think? Leave some comments.

Freestyling: The Second

Ignorant debaters annoy me.

We all know them. Mention something they're passionate about, and they just get angry (you can see on their face). Then they start screaming out random, incoherent points about the issue, whatever it was. Then they start to repeat their points. Usually, by this point, they began to lose all credibility and everyone in the room begins to ignore them. Then when you respond they take it as though they're being attacked, and start criticizing you. Then everybody is ignoring them and you are trying to change the subject because it suddenly becomes very awkward.

Do you ever deal with people like this? I just give simple yes or no answers to these people. I do like to think about them, because they are very funny (unintentionally of course).

(Well, that was awkward, time to change the subject) The other day I was watching one of those "This was inspired by the possibility that this Creature could be real". Stuff we know isn't real, but they would like to think it is. Stuff like Bigfoot, Nessy or Global Warming. This show sunk the rest down even farther. It's called Lost Tapes. Haha it gets bad actors and puts them in "Situations that could really happen". I mean I was attacked by a Cracken once, but you don't hear me complaining. I don't know maybe there are things out there, but I really doubt it.

One thing that is out there and is making a comeback, Pirates. They aren't cool pirates though. No, I thinking about getting a Gallion, and conquering the Spanish Main. Does anybody want in? I was just gonna go down to Tortuga and get a crew, but to my dismay they aren't in to Romanticized Piracy any more. It'll be fun. Maybe I'll just get a Gallion and conquer the Mississippi river. I would control all imports and exports into New Orleans, Yes!!!
I will let you know what I plan on doing.

Well, this one is probably short, but I have to go.

If you contact me about joining my crew, I'm Captain Jack Swallow

Freestyling: Numero Uno

I'm sitting here, eyes melting, in front of my computer. I was thinking how much time I spend in this same position. It's amazing how much we do these days require computers. I have computer class, obviously on a computer. I also have Advanced Math, which has no book to go along with it. This; of course, does make it hard for an old school tutor of mine.

Actually computers aren't what I had intended originally. I thought I just might freestyle (so any grammar errors you find in this one, don't worry about it).

I was thinking about my blog I posted today, which was about racism. What's up with hatred? When I don't like someone, I've found it easier to just try and be friends. I don't feel quiet as stressed. Blogging is a good stress reliever, if I'm really mad about something (despite how irrelevant) I can type it out and it makes me feel better. I like how anyone in the world can blog about anything, anywhere, at anytime. That pure unrestricted, freedom is very cool.

I was thinking, what is the value of a human life?

It seems like all you hear on the news is people getting shot here, roadside bomb blowing up civilians there, and what does it all account for? I guess it's all just part of life.

Feminists. I'll be blogging about them soon. They annoy the crap out of me. Ultimately these ignorant bigots, apparently, having nothing better to do than to try and convince everyone that women can do just as much as men can. Feminist listen up. WE ALREADY, FREAKING, KNOW THAT WOMEN CAN DO THE SAME THINGS MEN!!! Who is honestly denying it? All the women I know work their butts off, I don't know if they really want to. Thanks to the feminists men have an image of being ignorant, fat, lazy, and sometimes sexist. This was part of the women's movement in the '90s. Feminist you're doing the same thing to us that you claim to be fighting against for women. Hmmm, what's the word for that? Oh I don't know, maybe.........Hypocrisy!
Honestly, what do you think is going to happen? We're going to take away you're right to vote.

I do love that women can work and make a name for themselves, it's great. I just don't support the extremist.

But, o well. (see, I got that off my chest and I feel better now)

Well, I can't think of any thing else. If I do, trust me, you'll hear about it.

Until tomorrow,

-Evan

The Music Around Us

I saw the movie August Rush last summer and was compelled. I find it so fascinating that some people can hear the rhythm in things as he did. They can hear rhythm of anything cars driving, wind in the grass, or fingers typing on a keyboard. But that made me think, is it that we can't hear it or that we don't listen for it? In order to hear one must be silent. (An old teaching, but still important)

Is that part of the problem with our fast paced lives, that we don't sit down and listen enough? I found one of the most relaxing times for me (regardless of my lack of skill) is to sit down and play a few chords on my Acoustic guitar. I can forget about everything else worrying me. Whenever I finally get back to do whatever it is I was doing, I have a calmer, more optimistic attitude.
I think at the end of every day, we should just sit down somewhere quiet and listen.

Shorter than the others, but thanks for reading anyway

Why.......?

Why......?
For just a three letter word it has a great deal of power if used with the right words and in some cases the wrong words. With the right words it can convince you something good really is true and right. With the right words used wrongly it can convince you something bad really is true and right. Then how do we know what is really true and right and what isn't? Our conscious, being inspired by God, ultimately will lead us straight. It's our choice whether or not we to follow.

Why do we do something that we know is wrong? Why do we do things that have obvious, negative consequences? Probably because it feels good. What we commonly forget about these "Feel Goods" is that they are temporary and short lived, like dust in the wind. It'll be great in it's moment, but then you find yourself longing for more. Sometimes to a point of such desperation you'll do anything to get it and that is when it gets truly pitiful.

There is only one thing I've found to be lasting in this world, and that's Christianity (faith in Jesus Christ). Some people say that Christianity is no fun. Will going to jail, addicted to some drug(insert name here), having multiple STDs, or becoming an alcoholic be fun. Will it be fun to be rejected by your family and friends because of one of these.

I'm not trying to condone anyone, trust me I'm definitely not perfect. I'm just trying to make you question. I just want you think about why you do whatever it is you do. Why do you drink every weekend? Why do you get high? Why do you sleep around?

For the Alcoholics: Did you know if you drink to much beer (or any alcohol for that matter) to fast you could get liver poisoning and die. You wouldn't even know it until it was to late, it's instantaneous. (it almost happened to one of my dear friends)

For Anyone thinking about starting Drugs: There are drugs out there that will have you hooked the first time you try, that is if it doesn't kill you first. You will lose your future and possibly friends.

For the Sluts: I have to ask a question for this one. Is it really worth risking getting pregnant, getting an STD, and respect of those around you? To just give yourself away is a sign of low self respect. Statistics show that majority of teen dating couples who have premarital sex will break up in a matter of time. I've found this to be true. I've only seen one couple to stay together after having premarital sex, but they made a vow to stop having sex. I believe that's what has kept them together. Statistics also show that people (both men and women) who sleep around won't be able to maintain a stable marriage in the future. Why risk all this for a short, fleeting pleasure?

I realize I might be a little harsh. I also realize the issues in this article were fairly basic. I didn't want to go to far in the issue, that would take entirely to long and would get very repetitive.

Like I mentioned earlier I believe we are ultimately inspired by God to do right. I believe the only way to avoid or stop these things is to follow the path He lays out for us. Once we have done, we must just trust Him to work things out(Jeremiah 29:11). I believe He is a light of hope in a darkening world. Christianity is the only thing in this world that lasts.

A Very Biased View of Racism

My View on Racism

This post is my personal opinion on Racism. I have a fervent hatred towards it, so this is very biased (as the title states).

I have grown up in the South. I have been exposed to Racism on many levels(however, not as severe as it once was). I was raised in a Christian home, where I was taught to see others equally regardless of color, wealth, or social status.

I believe there are two types of racism, both stem from hatred.

One is nothing but pure hatred. An example of this was Hitlers hatred toward Jews, Gypsies and Slavs (there is no e on the end. It is Slavs not slaves). He was also insane.

The other is ignorance. It's the ignorance, or lack of understanding, of another Ethnic Group's culture and traditions. Ignorance is a breeding ground for fear. Hatred spawns from fear. When this is passed down from generation to generation, Father to Son, is when it becomes illogical. It becomes a way of life. That's the case with racism today, these people hate just because their parents do.

This isn't how it's supposed to be.

Racism in a Church is becoming very infrequent, but I've seen a few Churches that are. It's very sad when a Preacher is racist. I believe if a Preacher is a racist, than he doesn't deserve the title. It puts the mind set in the children coming up in the Church. Because of the changing world they won't be able to fit in. My own Church, I'm sad to say, told a family to leave because they were black. How hypocritical is that? Now they've come back, Thank God. They are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The point is You can't judge someone by the color of their skin.

Today the stereotype is that all White Southerners are racist, and that whites; in general, have better lives. I would definitely have to say that that belief is wrong on some many levels. Whites aren't the only ones who are racist. Blacks, Chinese, Hispanics and just about any Ethnic Group has Racism somewhere in it's culture.

I'm not trying to say that racism isn't around, it is and will be for a while. I'm just saying it's not as bad as some make it out to be.

I'll stay within our borders for a little while. Now that we have a Black President, does it mean the stereotypical white on Black racism is over. I pray it is, I pray everyone could be united, but that's a lot to ask. Will Barack bring everyone together like he promised. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm going to bring it home for me. I'm from a small town. Racism is still here, I hear it just about everyday. I don't like it, but there isn't anything I can do to stop it. What I dislike most is when people don't even bother to meet someone because they are Black. Why? Where is the logic behind that? There is none. They just judge as their fathers did and their father before them did and their Grandfathers did and so on.

Conclusion

Just to be clear, I AM strongly against racism and always will be. I don't hate racist, just the practice. I believe for Christians, there shouldn't be any hate of any kind in your heart. This is a lot to ask, but we should strive for it. Jesus made an example of this at the Well. We should strive to live like Him.

On the issue of slavery, what happened in the past is done.

The lesson of this blog is, don't hate someone until you get to know them.

If you are a racist who has a problem with this blog please tell me(that way I can laugh at you).

Fighting Evil by day,

-Evan
